Home Safety Visit
In home visit to assess safety and readiness of environment for child
- Identify if home has fire extinguisher, smoke alarms, Co2 monitor
- Identify if parent has gun in home and if locked and secured
- Identify if parent is a smoker
- Identify if a parent has taken a CPR class and has a first aid kit
- A thorough walk through client’s home, room by room to make specific age-appropriate recommendations on safeguarding and organizing areas
- Each room in the house could have potential hazards for a young child for example exposed wires, exposed plugs, low hanging cords from blinds and a walk through allows these to be identified and parent made aware. Recommendations will be made on how to child proof these areas of concern
- Observation of required areas for child to play, sleep, eat and bathe
- Observation of location of medications (locked cabinet) and cleaning supplies.
- Discuss with parent recommendations and help parent to find equipment/supplies to safeguard home
- Assessment documentation will be completed and a copy given to the client and a copy to Law office.
- Communicate with parent via emails/text/phone
To set this up:
Follow-Up Home Reassessment Visit
In home reassessment visit to ensure recommendations have been completed and home is safe for child to visit
- Walk through home room by room to reassess for improved organization and to ensure that safety measures have been implemented
- Ensure areas are safe and clean where child is to sleep, eat, play and bathe
- Recommendations for further childproofing and safety measures as needed
- Reassessment documentation will be completed and a copy given to the client and a copy to law office / court
- Continued communication via email, texts and phone
To set this up:
Home Equipment & Supplies Assessment Visit
In home visit (may be combined with safety assessment visit) to identify equipment and supplies needed to care for child
- Walk through each room in home where specific equipment and supplies are required such as kitchen, bedroom, play area, bathroom
- Discuss and document all age-appropriate equipment and supplies needed or that parent has in place
- Discuss ideas for age-appropriate toys and books
- Discuss age-appropriate food for child
- Discuss toileting age appropriate

Parent Education and Coaching Services
Parenting or Childcare Classes
Parenting or Childcare Classes will ensure parent has a good basic understanding of age-appropriate care for their child.

Infant / Child Massage Classes
Massage is a helpful way for a parent to bond and connect with their baby or older child. It can help soothe and calm a baby and provide relief from teething pains, gas and colic and nasal congestion. In older children it can help with headaches, tummy aches, anxiety and sleep.
Classes will teach the parent how massage is beneficial and teach them massage strokes. It can help boost parental confidence and self-esteem.

Babystrokes will assist parent in compiling child specific information to help parent get to know their child and have a more complete understanding of their milestones and personality. Every child is unique, and it is important for a parent to know specifics about their child

To set this up:
Supervised Visitation Parent / Child Educational and Therapeutic
Typically, court ordered, and number of visits determined by court. The visits can be in home or at custodial home or childcare facility or any other location if court approved.
The purpose of the Supervised visitation is to help facilitate and support the parent child relationship while prioritizing the health and safety of the child.
- Observation of parent and child interaction
- Observation of parent and child play
- Observation of specific tasks such as diaper care, dressing, bathing, feeding, administering medications
- Observations of use of equipment such as car seat, baby swing, highchair, stroller
- Guidance and coaching of parent as needed
- Education and teaching if required
- Interventions as needed and appropriate
- Documentation of visit and summary will be provided to parent and law office/court
- Recommendations for further visits or education if required
